Gina Lunn
Gina Lunn resides in San Clemente, California. She was first introduced to glass in 1997 at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, California. She was amazed at what was being created out of molten sand. The process of creating glass art inspired her to change her life's path.
She attended courses for two years at Palomar College, San Marcos, California. She then acquired a position with one of the top artists in the Laguna Beach community, John Barber at John Barber Glass Studios, Laguna Beach. She has developed her skills through both working with John and through workshops with other glass artists around the country. She has had the opportunity to work with Laura Donefer and Leah Fairbanks in June 2001 at Red Deer College, Alberta Canada. She has also attended various classes including Ross Richmond: June 2003, Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen: 2005, Stephen Rolfe Powell: 2005.
Gina Lunn takes her inspiration from nature and 1960s and 1970s style glass. She feels that life reflects nature. She hopes to connect people with the feeling projected by the 60s and 70s whether it be nature or contemporary art depicting nature. If a feeling can be achieved by a tangible piece of glass then she has fulfilled her goal.
Developing her glassblowing skills and challenging herself to create new ideas are Gina's goals as well as owning and operating her own glass studio. Currently, sculpting glass is her newest passion.
